Malini Ramani is busy traveling the world. But that has never stopped the lass from pursuing her actual passion — fashion.

The designer who was appreciated for her thematic presentation at a Mumbai based fashion week last season has now been appointed as the grand finale designer for the very fashion gala. And the appointment has not surprised the fashion industry either. But given that expectations are flying high, Ramani better deliver.

Is she feeling the pressure of being a grand finale designer? “The show is more than a month away. But I will be putting in my share of extra hard work,” says Malini, adding that most designers do go crazy as the deadline nears. “But I’m calm because I know which direction I will be heading towards and I’ve settled on my key pieces,” says Malini who will be showing a gypsy line this time around. “Yes. My show will have an entire caravan of gypsies flaunting my styles,” says an elated Malini.

Tell her that of late one has come to associate her with boho chic fashion and she shoots, “Actually I’ve been known for portraying a certain style every few years. First I was known as the girl who did party clothes, then resort wear and now boho. I’m happy not to have been labeled for a prolonged period of time.”

While she is reluctant to give us the glamorous details of her show (read: celebrity line-up) Malini admits that if she is allowed to have a celebrity showstopper, she will definitely rope in one.

“Whether having a Bollywood showstopper deviates from the clothes or not is an endless debate. But I am of the opinion that parading a celebrity in your clothes is the easiest way for a newbie to get noticed in this cut-throat market. And it’s fun,” she says, adding that if approached she wouldn’t mind styling or designing for a Bollywood film either.
