Four international designers get ready to flaunt their collections on the Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week runway. DNA gives you a sneak preview of what to expect.

Name: Pam and Archana
From: London
Label: Pam & Arch London
About: Pamela and Archana are sisters who turned fashion designers and launched their label in 2006. Hailing from a family that was into the business of knitting fabric design, printing and exporting, it might as well be said that the duo were born into fashion. The sisters enjoy designing high fashion ready-to-wear clothing for the girl-on-the go, which is why their creations are bright with vivid patterns and distinct in their cuts.

Collection notes: Titled Adam and Eve, their collection for the Blenders Pride Bangalore Fashion Week will be breezy, vibrant and chic.

Name: Daniel Hechter

About: A label that was started by Daniel Hechter in 1962, the eponymous label today stands for affordable luxury. Daniel Hechter does not restrict fashion to a small group of elite, but captures the enthusiasm of a broad public and fashion from this label combines European tradition with a sure sense of style and elegance, offering a cosmopolitan flair and a creative twist.

Collection notes: Daniel Hechter will be showcasing a small capsule collection from the Anniversary Collection, which was conceptualised for their 50th year anniversary. Inspired by Vasarely Paintings, this range uses stripes as the iconic federative element in white, red and blue colours. They will also be showcasing the Iconic Range that dates back to the 50-year-long legacy of the brand and highlights the various signs of recognition in the brand. Classic with a Twist is a contemporary formal wear range that illuminates a sophisticated confident attitude, while Sporty Elegance is the casual wear collection which brings in a lively combination of colours to brighten the summer look.

Name: Mustafa Hassan Ali

Label: Mustafa Hassan Ali Tanzania
About: Mustafa Hassan Ali is a name to reckon with in the African fashion industry. While he works out of Dar es Salam, his influence sweeps across the African continent through his active endeavour in promoting fashion. The 31-year-old designer, who also happens to be a qualified doctor, has had Naomi Campbell walk for him. Considered the brain behind the Swahili Fashion Week and the Harusi Trade Fair, Mustafa has participated in numerous fashion weeks including Africa Fashion Week (South Africa, 2011), Origin Africa “Fiber to Fashion” (Mauritius, 2011), Fashion Business Angola (Angola, 2011) and the India International Week in 2009 and the Mediterranean Fashion Festival in Sicily, Italy. His designs are vibrant, bohemian and celebrate the rich heritage of Tanzania.

Collection notes: Mustafa’s collection for BFW is inspired by the Indian influence on the Swahili coast of East Africa. A kaleidoscope of colours on clean fluid silhouettes mark the clothes he will be showing in Bangalore.
