Why are girls happy to be girls? Online Exclusive

On the national day of the girl child we asked some young ladies why they were happy to be girls. Here's what they said.

Girls don't get shouted at as much as boys do. We can put on lipstick and lip gloss when we go out and can also wear boys' shirts. Boys can't wear girls' clothes or shoes.

Girls are smarter than boys. We can wear cooler and smarter clothes and can do what boys do and sometimes do them better. Like sports. Boys think that girls can't play sports, but I think we can.
