The wrestling ring is no place for finding love, one would say... but the divas and hunks on the World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) roster would beg to differ. What follows here, is a shortlist of the most popular romances between professional wrestlers in the sporting entertainment world.  Consider this, more often than not, over the years, one has heard about more love triangles here with more drama and heartbreak than Bollywood and Hollywood put together. And even if you think it’s all show and for the cameras, you can’t disagree that there’s some truth somewhere. Nobody can be that cynical, right? So, here’s the list of wrestlers with the WWE, who found their single (or in some cases, attached) ladies, put a ring on it (or in some cases, did not) and had happily-ever-afters. Well, some are fresh romances and that’s cool, too!

Daniel Bryan - Brie Bella

WWE Superstar Daniel Bryan and his wife, Brie Bella (one half of the Bella Twins; Nikki being the other one) met in 2011 and dated nearly three years before getting married in 2014. Earlier this year, he retired from professional wrestling after a battle with concussions and she followed soon after. Her reason? “Bryan and I have had serious baby fever for the last year,” Bella told Latina.com this year. “I just felt like I should move on to the next chapter of life together with him and not just have him be at home waiting for me while I live his dream.” Earlier this year, he honoured her after Wrestlemania 32 (where she announced a retirement) with a post on Instagram, adding, “Now let’s work on that baby making”.

Alberto Del Rio - Paige

He’s a four-time World Champion, she’s a two-time Diva champion. He’s 39, she’s 23. First rumours of their affair emerged this May after they were spotted at Disneyland, posing with and even kissing each other in full view of fans. Her parents and brothers are all professional wrestlers and his father is Mexican luchador royalty, the famous Dos Caras; his uncle, a WWE hall-of-famer Mil Máscaras. They are WWE’s newest it couple, and Paige even got a tiny ‘papi’ tattoo on her finger, inspired by her man.  Well, time will tell how this one goes...

The Miz - Maryse

Michael ‘The Miz’ Mizanin and wife Maryse Oullet are branding themselves WWE’s ‘it’ couple as of earlier this year. And they wouldn’t be too far from claiming that tag. He is the current and five-time WWE Intercontinental Champion. Maryse is a two-time Divas champ. The two married in 2014 in the Bahamas in front of friends, family and co-workers and she now manages him, sources have said. “I’m enjoying my married life. And maybe, I’m going to, you know...have mini Mizes and mini Maryses,” Oullet told Aesthetic Magazine in 2014. But never say never, she might just return to the ring.

Triple H - Stephanie McMahon

WWE’s most high-profile romance was born from a storyline. But this one eventually culminated in marriage and today, The Authority (as the power couple is otherwise known) stand to inherit one of the world’s biggest sport entertainment properties from her father Vince McMahon. And believe it or not, the three of them have been running WWE for 16 years now! You know what they say about a family that sticks together... When H did tie the knot with Steph, his groomsmen were all wrestlers —The Undertaker, Ric Flair, Shawn Michaels, William Regal, Kevin Nash and Shane McMahon.

John Cena - Nikki Bella

They couldn’t be more different, but the 15-time WWE champ (and popular actor) and his girlfriend (the longest reigning Divas champ) are actually an item — have been for four years now. However, say insiders, do not expect them to tie the knot any time soon... or ever. Cena has said that Nikki and he don’t agree on marriage and having kids. He loves her but because he is a “selfish” person, who does not see himself as a family man, he cannot give her these things. Honest words, and in fact, he told Rolling Stone, “I just have things I need to get done. It’s not negotiable. We’ve been to therapy over it.” But, avers Nikki, in one interview, “I have to remind him when I get hit on, ‘I got hit on because no one saw a ring.’ The good thing is, he’s more open to marriage now — kids, unfortunately, no… When I envision having my life without John, it hurts more than having a life without kids.”
