Jewels for the free-spirited

A two-year-old label, Lune is a unique jewellery brand that offers handmade and affordable creations. Designer and curator Sreesha Shetty who retails online (although she has a work studio in Goa and Mumbai), got into jewellery design while she was in London. "I tend to travel quite a lot and pick up interesting materials along the way. Most of my work involves the use of crystals and quartz which is quite rare for India as well as brass. I try to work with the stones in their raw, natural state. My designs also include lots of chains to give that antique tone," she explains. Sreesha, a former journalist has no formal training in design, but she has read about and observed designers at work. Her label she says will appeal to the dreamy, bohemian woman. The current collection includes minimalistic earrings, statement as well as casual neckpieces and geometric designed bracelets. Her future plans include working with sterling silver and also expanding the line. "We plan to add body jewellery like anklets, body chains, ear cuffs and head pieces as well. The idea is to keep it innovative and different, yet affordable," she adds.
