At the recent Iron Man 3 premiere, actress Gwyneth Paltrow wore a daring Antonio Berardi gown in white and teal that featured sheer black panelling on each side displaying her long toned legs.

However, that’s not all the sleeved dress revealed. The panels showed the actresses’ taut derriere and her sans underwear look. But while some critics applauded the bold move, others felt the dress revealed a tad too much. After Hrs asks Indian designers:

I personally think Gwyneth looked jaw- drooling fab in the gown . She pulled it off perfectly thanks to her sculpted pilates body, her look sort of reminded me of superhero chic-strong, sexy yet feminine. This look of hers will definitely go down in history, not as the most loved but the most fearless and talked about look she has ever carried. Congratulations to her for managing to look like a super hero goddess despite having two kids and being in her 40s.

With the sheer trend being very strong this season, I guess a slender frame with a good height as Gwyneth Paltrow’s carries the design and trend well. I think it all lies in the eyes of the beholder — for many less is more and for others more is less.

Shouger Merchant Doshi, designer

I do find the dress rather too revealing for my liking and I don’t think it would work well with Indians. It would have been an elegant outfit were it not so much about the ‘sheer’ shock value and more about the silhouette. However, you can’t fault Gwyneth for wearing it as she can pull it off! I believe in a personal sense of style and if this is hers, more power to her.
