Marissa Cooper's glamorous wardrobe in the The OC, Carrie Bradshaw's shoe collection in Sex and the City, Blair's choicest hairbands in Gossip Girl… high fashion has been a running thread in many television serials. More recently, a show that has been in news for its trendy hairdos and fashion aesthetics is the American fantasy series Game of Thrones. We got hairstylist Natasha Shaikh from Hair Garage to try out four inspired styles on model Anjhula Mya Bais.
    Curls and roses
Long, flowy hair are a staple for Cersei Lannister and Khaleesi – two characters whose hairstyles play a huge role in defining their overall appeal. This hairstyle is inspired by the duo with tong-curled hair and messy hair bun in between.
    How to get it right
1 For this hairstyle, pull out hair from your crown area, as if to tie a half pony.
2 Tightly twirl both the ends of your hair (from behind your ears) to create Roman-style twists.
3 Pull these twirls towards the centre of your head and fasten them with a rubber band.
4 Now swirl this entire section to form a 'rose'.
5 Curl the leftover hair using curling tongs and let them loose.
    Where to wear it?
This hairstyle should be restricted to a formal evening. Team it with an off shoulder dress or a halter top.

    Ribbon twist
From the series, this sort of hairstyle ideally fits the Stark family women. With them, the hairdos are more practical than doused in vanity. The ribbon twist is a simple hairstyle that highlights the twists and the curls of your hair by incorporating a ribbon. Here is how you can achieve it

    How to get it right
1 Divide hair into two neat sections and plait them individually.
2 Incorporate the ribbon into both the plaits and tie both of them together at the bottom.
3 Pull both the plaits to one side, preferably left and twirl them to create a faux bun. This will make both the plaits overlap.
4 Fasten the buns with pins.
    Where to wear it?
The ribbon twist is ideal to take to your work meetings or a bakery/painting class – anywhere you need to push back your locks, but with style.

    Knotty braid
What is it? When Catelyn Stark's hair isn't leisurely cascading down, she ties it up in a firm braid. The knotty braid is inspired by this mother of five and the Lady of Winterfell.

    How to get it right
1 Take horizontal sections from ear to ear and make a braid.
2 Once your braid reaches a little lower than mid-ear, start incorporating small sections from either sides of your loose hair forming a French braid till the bottom of the nape.
3 Secure with a transparent rubber band and drape a small section of your hair over the rubberband.
    Where to wear it?
College campus, shopping trips, lunches. The braid is an informal hairstyle that will keep hair off your face and still manage to add character to your look. Works well with curly and wavy hair as well.
