Ask any runner, and the one thing they think is most important for them is shoe. You may be running on a grass turf or concrete or even on plain ground, shoes play very important role in keeping you healthy. The market is flooded with running shoes but only a connoisseur would know the difference between a shoe and the shoe.

The Free Flyknit 4.0 is newest iteration of the Free 4.0 by Nike. They are the intermediate shoes in the Free lineup, with the 3.0 being the most minimalist featuring a 4mm drop. Moving on the 4.0 has a 6mm drop, and the 5.0 has a 7mm drop. And the Flyknit upper really works wonders on the shoe.

The Flyknit upper is minimally structured. There are no overlays and no heels. There is a stretchy woven mesh which actually keep your foot grounded. The upper part of the shoes feels more like a sock than hard shoe material. It hugs your foot the right way. As there are no heel counters, the ankle and foot is adjusted pretty comfortably. It helps a runner in a way that the show feels like an extension of the foot. However, sometimes the shoe lacks traction, but then it also depends on the road you run. The soles tend to get dirty a lot as they pick a lot of pebbles and dirt, especially if you're running on a green turf. And though the mesh wire is pretty looking and comfortable, one wonders how long they are going to stay.

As for the performance, Free Flyknit 4.0 is incredibly comfortable, lightweight and flexible. It doesn't let you feel that you're wearing a shoe, rather a good fit gives a really good experience while running. There's nothing like running barefoot, but next to that will definitely running in these shoes.
