If you can distinguish your Butterbeer from bat-bogey hexes, and can spot a crumple-horned snorcack when you see one, we’re guessing you’re a major Harry Potter fan. While you might never receive a letter to Hogwarts, at least not yet, there are a few secret places Potterheads can visit to take you a step closer to the dream. Here’s a bucket list of places to visit before you make your way to the other side of the veil—if you know what we mean...

Muggle Tours, London

Nothing will feel more magical than visiting the actual sets of all Harry Potter films. When you embark on the Muggle tour, you can sneak into the Leaky Cauldron (like in The Prisoner of Azkaban), the alleyway that inspired the famous wizard shopping spot Diagon Alley, as well as the visitor’s entrance to the Ministry of Magic and other famous spots.

College of Wizardry, Poland

Czocha Castle in Poland has become the Yale to Hogwarts’ Harvard. While they claim they are not exactly linked to the Harry Potter books, every Potterhead will enjoy the experience. This college let’s you enrol for a wizarding course for three days, where you get to practice spells, watch magical creatures fly around school, and other magical stuff. Also, it’s set in a huge palace that sort of resembles Hogwarts (maybe it’s Durmstrang?).

King’s Cross Station, London

Even if you aren’t off to Hogwarts, it’s always a treat visiting King’s Cross station because you might just come across an enchanted wall that will lead to Platform 9 3/4. While you probably shouldn’t ram into the platform, there is a half-inside trolley where you can go selfie-crazy. Fans can also buy Harry Potter merchandise from the souvenir store.

Warner Bros. Studio, London

Every Harry Potter fan needs to visit the place where it all began. The Potter tour here will take you to the Great Hall and Diagon Alley. You can also visit Muggle central: No 4 Privet Drive. If you’re thirsty after the tour, a Butterbeer will quench your thirst (even if you’re underage).

Harry Potter World, USA

A trip to Orlando is worth it if you can spend the day soaking in the sights and sound of the magical world of Harry Potter. You can visit the Three Broomsticks and The Leaky Cauldron, drink pumpkin juice and Butterbeer, visit Hogsmeade and Diagon Alley. You can also shop at Dervish and Banges, Honeydukes and Weasley’s Wizard Wheezes.
