Chilli infused vodka forms the base of Flamboyante’s Spider Bite, a cocktail prepared with jalepeno infused vodka, lemon juice, sugar and Tabasco. The drink features on the restaurant and bar’s new cocktail menu, which we dropped by to sample, and is a must-try. Available as a shooter for Rs 250, served in a testube or as a cocktail for Rs 390, we recommend you have it at one go. For those who swear by their Sangria, you will be surprised to find an interesting variation of this classic Spanish cocktail, prepared here with vodka. Fruits are soaked in port overnight, married with red wine, vodka, apple and grape juice, which makes for a heady concoction, which costs Rs 450 for a glass. Apart from the drinks, what also grabs your attention is the different glasses that adorn the bar in various shapes and sizes.

We were informed that the glasses not only serve as decorative pieces but are also used to make and serve drinks. And while you sip on your drink, you can also pick from starters that includes a mix of Chinese, Indian and Thai fare. We tried the Chicken Momos (Rs 300) and the Corn Cream Waterchestnut starter (Rs 320) that was served with a spicy dip of herbs and chilli that made for delicious accompaniments. For the main course, we ordered the Chicken Khow Suey (Rs 620), a mix of noodles, spicy chicken cooked in coconut milk. We wrapped up our meal with a drink - the Other Side of Midnight (Rs 275, plus taxes) which is an intoxicating variation from regular dessert, especially for those who want to taste something sweet, yet light.

At: Flamboyante, Restaurant & Bar,  The Arcade Building, World Trade Center.
