The financial assistance will be provided under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna (urban) which has been put on a speedy pace at Rajasthan.

Under the scheme a survey of nearly 150 cities of the state has so far been completed and list of 4.34 lakh probable beneficiaries has accordingly been prepared by the department. A state level monitoring committee meeting of the ‘housing for all’ chaired by chief secretary on Friday approved 44 thousand such applications.

”The remaining applications are also expected to be cleared over next six months and nearly two lakh units will be generated under PPP mode by other departments,” said an officer.

These applicants shall be entitled for a financial assistance of upto Rs 1.5 lakh under the scheme for housing. In addition to these the affordable housing units constructed by Housing Board, JDA and other local bodies under public private partnership model will also be provided credit link subsidy. The state government thus tends to bring these families under the beneficiary cover before it goes to assembly elections in end of the year.

Role Of Local Bodies

State level monitoring committee approved construction of nearly 18,000 units under PPP mode. RHB, JDA and other local bodies shall provide land for the purpose while construction will be held by private developers. Among these 10 such projects of RHB will generate over 6000 units.
