Politics has become hot in the state in connection with the foundation ceremony of Barmer Refinery.

Former Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot has tweeted the question about the foundation of the refinery between the code of conduct of the by-elections. BJP state president Ashok Parnami said that permission has been sought from the Election Commission (EC) for the foundation ceremony of the refinery and said he (Gehlot) do not have to worry.

PM Modi will lay the foundation stone of the refinery in Barmer on January 14. During the last Ashok Gehlot government, Sonia Gandhi laid the foundation stone for the same refinery. BJP has revoked the previous MoU and has made a new one of the refinery.

BJP will not do any work in violation of the Code of Conduct. The refinery has been discussed with the EC for the foundation ceremony.

Gehlot also tweeted about the refinery’s ‘twice’ foundation laying ceremony. In response, Parnami said that Gehlot himself did the refinery MoU in a hurry. In this MoU, people of the state were burdened with Rs40 thousand crore.

If interest of 30 years of Rs40 thousand crore is added, then this figure becomes Rs1 lakh 54 thousand crore. Gehlot should thank CM Raje to free the state from this burden.
