Independents secured a major win in the student union polls at the government universities of Kota and Bikaner, while claimed three posts including the president post at Rajasthan University in Jaipur. Independent candidates also occupied two positions at apex body of MSU, Udaipur.

Among the student bodies, Akhil Bharatiya Vidhyarthi Parishad (ABVP) was on a little advantage as it made a comeback at Ajmer MDS University and claimed all four apex seats. Candidates of ABVP also were victorious on post of president at MSU Udaipur, MSBU Bharatpur and Sanskrit University.

The NSUI meanwhile was able to claim hold on Agriculture University at Bikaner.

The student union elections in Rajasthan this year were also being considered crucial as the state goes for assembly elections this year. NSUI, despite losing on most seats maintained that students have voted against BJP government in state.

After declaration of results, minor incidents of clash between student groups at a few places were reported. Student groups clashed at Sikar, while girls students were caught fighting on camera at a college in Udaipur and stone pelting on procession of newly elected president of Maharaja Ganga Singh University, Sima Rajpurohit turned situation tense at Bikaner.
