Rajasthan Royals have agreed to meet the fire safety measures put forth by Jaipur Municipal Corporation. However, the fire no objection certificate (NoC) for the IPL matches in city shall wait till compliance. Officials of the Rajasthan Royals met city mayor Ashok Lahoti on Monday and assured him of complying with the requirements by Tuesday morning. Acquiring fire NoC remains a must for any public event. The absence of the certificate overshadows IPL matches to be held in the city, first of which is only to be played at SMS stadium on Wednesday.
Even the district collector was sought to intervene in the capacity of chief of Disaster Management Authority. At a meeting of the JMC and RR officials chaired by the collector Siddharth Mahajan, the fire officials cited six points that the RR agreed to comply with by 10am on Tuesday. The mayor though remains undeterred with assurances of event organisers.”It’s an issue related to public safety and cannot be compromised,” mayor Ashok Lahoti said talking to DNA.
JMC hits RR for a six
The JMC issued four more notices to RCA and RR on Monday. The JMC where has sought RCA over the due urban development tax for the SMS Stadium, the corporation has inquired RR about operation of food courts, sanitation facilities and revenue generation through advertisements at the stadium. The JMC previously had issued notices regarding fire safety at stadium and sought five per cent share in ticket revenue against the cleanliness work required.

- Four fire fighting trucks required at stadium, JMC seeks reimbursement for the expense.
- Often, there is no drinking water JMC seeks fire safety plan. JMC wants deployment of more fire marshals. 5 special fire extinguishers at each operational kitchen.
