A priest Anil Purohit of Seva Wali Sevagiri Dham, situated in the jungles near Madhan area of Behror district, cut his private part using a sharp weapon during a program being held at the Ashram on Friday. In an instinctive incident, Purohit took the above-mentioned action as he was distressed and hurt due to the news of rapes and harassment of women by the godmen coming out one after the other.
After injuring himself with the sharp weapon, Purohit got badly injured and lost a lot of blood. He began shouting in pain and was then taken to a private hospital of Rewari by his devotees, followed by Neemrana. After that, Purohit was finally admitted to Kailash Hospital situated in Behror. But, due to the critical condition, he was then referred to Jaipur on Friday night itself.
There were 300 to 400 people including women at the Sevagiri Dham when the priest decided to cut his private part. However, according to sources, priest Purohit was provoked by a devotee from Rewari, mentioning about the cases going on against the godmen like Asaram and Ram Rahim, which have been proved guilty by the court as well.
Priest Purohit was brought to Jaipur via ambulance and was admitted to Apex Hospital, where he is still undergoing treatment. The news of the incident has spread like fire and the people are getting involved in arguments and discussions on the topic. However, no police case has been registered in the matter as the police are saying that they are unaware of the incident.
Purohit had been absorbed in devotion since childhood. His devotees visit the temple to solve their problems as they believe that the issues get resolved with the blessings of the priest. The program for devotees takes place twice every month on the dates 15 and 30.
