The ruling BJP is eying to use the image of MPs to their benefit in the upcoming Assembly election as it intends to field seven MPs — including two union ministers — who may contest the polls. It is a tried-and-tested move from last Assembly elections, wherein three MPs fought and emerged triumphant and later, the party made them MPs.

Union minister Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has been active in the Kotputli area for the last four years and the buzz is that he wants to contest the assembly polls from Kotputli. Similarly, Jaipur MP Ramcharan Bohra is active in Sanganer and Kota MP Om Birla might be fielded from their influence areas. Birla, Santosh Ahlawat and Bahadur Singh Koli were elected as the legislator in the last elections and later they went on to become MPs.
