The iconic Jantar Mantar has now opened the Research Room as well as an Observer Room for the tourists and researchers.

Apart from this a 3D model of the observatory has also been installed in the room along with the models of the instruments brought from other districts of Rajasthan, said Director, Archaeology and Museums, Hridesh Sharma, on Monday.

Sharma further said that the 3D model of Jantar Mantar exhibits every minute detail of the observatory including the Interpretation Centre and different instruments present in the monument.

The observer room also showcases three instruments namely the Khagol Ghati Yantra, Khagol Yantra and a model of solar system.

Similarly, Unnatamsha Yantra, Laghu Samrat Yantra, Digamsha Yantra, Kapali Yantra and Jaiprakash Yantra among others are also displayed in the Research Room, he added.

Not only this, instruments used during construction and restoration of the monument have been also showcased along with a model of the cenotaph of Maharaja Jai Singh. It may be noted that the Department of Archaeology and Museums has been organising various kinds of events in the monuments to make them vibrant and to attract more tourists.

Jantar Mantar is an astronomical observation site built in the early 18th century and it includes a set of some 20 main fixed instruments.

With the installation of the 3D model, the tourists will now have a new item to explore at Jantar Mantar.
