Rajasthan: Crowd shifts from 13 Civil Lines to the bungalow across road

Large number of bureaucrats too visited the Gehlot’s residence on Saturday.

Except for a break of few hours of the intervening night between Friday and Saturday there is nothing to stop the supporters, general public coming to meet the chief minister designate Ashok Gehlot. Large number of bureaucrats too visited the Gehlot’s residence on Saturday.

There were large number of people arriving at his doorstep since early morning to offer him their best wishes. They were seen brining garlands, flowers and sweets and offered these to Gehlot who accepted it from the people. 

On several occasions, he was seen giving the flowers to the ones who had come to him, which was making the visitors happy and sent them back smiling. Many people took the opportunity to take selfies with him on their mobile phones and Gehlot happily obliged them.

MLA’s and hopefuls of becoming ministers also met Gehlot and congratulated him on becoming the chief minister. Many first time MLAs also queued up and met Gehlot who was thanking the visitors.

Everybody was moved when a visiting senior citizen wearing a turban and dhoti came and met Gehlot and placed his hands on the his shoulders. The chief minister designate not only reciprocated this gesture but also agreed for a selfie with the senior citizen. Large number of bureaucrats and police officials also met him and congratulated him. Outside his bungalow in Civil Lines it looked like an atmosphere of a fair. The road faced problem of traffic jams and the inside lanes of colonies of civil lines were also choc-a-block with the vehicles.

However, the house just across the road, the residence of ex-chief minister Vasundhara Raje, wore an abandoned look.
