“Operation Sard Hawa” was launched on Thursday under which the BSF will step up security on international borders.
Officers have been posted alongside border personnel to boost their motivation. According to sources, “Operation Sard Hawa” will last till January 30.
According to sources, the effect of extreme cold can be seen on the frontlines. During this period the area is covered by thick fog from late in the night uptill early morning hours. To prevent intruders from taking advantage of the fog and cross the border, BSF undertakes this operation to increase watch. Advanced weaponry has also been made available to the force this year for better surveillance. Police posts close to the border will be on alert as well during this operation.
Continuous patrolling will be done by BSF officers along the border fence with the help of vehicles. Camel patrolling is also set to increase during this time. These special precautions have been carried during ‘Operation Sard Hawa” as opposed to other times. According to sources, this time the intelligence wing of the BSF is also activated. Apart from this, secret service agencies have been also contacted by the BSF to keep a close eye on all the activities taking place in the region. BSF personnel and officers working in BSF headquarters will be posted on the border under this operation. The purpose of the operation is to keep a hawk’s eye on the international border, where vigil has been beefed-up and officers have also been asked to motivate jawans.
