The Department of Skills, Employment and Entrepreneurship has collaborated with Indian Army to organise Army Recruitment Rallies for the youth for ensuring quality placements.

A meeting was held between DSEE and Indian Army on Thursday at Kaushal Bhawan for the Skilling and Certification of Ex-Servicemen where it was proposed to have an MoU between the RSLDC (Rajasthan Skill and Livelihoods Development Corporation) and RSWD (Rajasthan Soldiers Welfare Department) for development of processes and procedures for ESM Skilling.

“The Army men retire early and hence their large scale experience working in various sectors of the Defence forces could be utilised for the promotional and enhancement of Skills Ecosystem through Training of Trainers, Recognition of Prior Learning and towards Assessment and Certification,” said Krishna Kunal, Commissioner, SEE.

“The Army recruitment rallies are majorly conducted by the employment wing with the support of the home department and district administration. Since 2014-15, till date, the SEE Department has organised 26 Army recruitment rallies hence benefiting more than 10,507 youth through employment in various categories,” Kunal added.

He further said that mobilisation of the youth  along with the awareness is spread by the Department while the Army does the final selection in the rallies.

“Rajasthan has always been a forerunner in contributing to the National Armed Forces. Rajasthan accounts for 6.74% of the ex-service men (ESM) strength of the nation with 1.74 lakh ESM. 61 per cent of them are concentrated in the districts of Jhunjhunu, Alwar, Jodhpur, Nagaur and Sikar. Most ESM retire before attaining the age of 50 while other 40 per cent of them retire even earlier in the age group of 36-41 years,” said Major General SP Goswami, who represented Indian Army in the meeting.
