The state government has given its reply on the PIL, filed against the use of government funds in the Rajasthan Gaurav Yatra being carried out by the BJP.

In response, the state government has also clarified that the yatra is entirely of the BJP and no government expenditure is being done on it. The bench of Chief Justice Pradeep Nandrajog will hear the case on Friday.

In the reply, it has been said that chief minister Vasundhara Raje is a part of the visit and is informing the public about the plans of the government as the chief administrator. The state government is bound to make arrangements including the Chief Minister’s protocol and security, but it should not be seen as part of the Gaurav Yatra.

Apart from this, Department of Information & Public Relations (DIPR) is not publishing any information related to the Gaurav Yatra. The department is issuing information only about the government schemes.

Moreover, an earlier order, issued by mistake, in this regard has also been withdrawn. The PIL was filed by advocate Dr Vibhuti Bhushan Sharma,

The state government has claimed that the petitioner has filed the petition only for political and self-publicity, without any basis. In such a case, it should be dismissed by imposing a fine.
