Having previously served as the head of various departments like education and municipal corporations among many others, bureaucrat Ravi Jain will now helm Information and Public Relations Department as its commissioner. Speaking to Zee Rajasthan, Jain shared his views on his priorities and challenges ahead. Excerpts:
“My priority as commissioner will be to make people aware of the schemes started by the government under the leadership of Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje, along with informing them about the achievements of the government. The state government has started many new schemes under various categories for the people that also include those under BPL, women, children, specially-abled and others.”
The government started 13 flagship schemes including Bhamashah Swasthya Bima Yojana, Annapurna Yojana, Pension Palanhar and Jal Swavlamban Yojana, and all the schemes have hugely benefited people. It is great that the work done has started showing results.
When asked about how he sees the responsibility given to him in the election year, Jain said, “This work is different from other departments as here the information needs to be provided to the people, instead of just issuing the orders. It is quite necessary to make the information reach to the beneficiaries of the schemes so that they can benefit from them.”
“To make these schemes successful, there is need to spread the relevant information about these schemes through posters, hoardings, banners, electronic media and print media, along with social media platforms like Youtube, Facebook and Twitter, so that maximum people can benefit from them,” added Jain.
