Mummy at Albert Hall fit and fine, say experts

The condition of the mummy was found in good condition and the team which was led by mummy specialist Rania Ahmad praised the way it is kept and maintained at the Albert Hall.

The Egyptian mummy kept at the Albert Hall museum in city was examined by experts on Monday.

The condition of the mummy was found in good condition and the team which was led by mummy specialist Rania Ahmad praised the way it is kept and maintained at the Albert Hall.

The expert team comprising of Rania Ahmad and Amal Kant Sharma who had come from national museum observed the mummy for minute details and the complete examination took about two and half hours.

The officials of department of archaeology including the superintendent of Albert Hall Rakesh Cholak were present during the time of examination.

This mummy is of a woman named Tutu who was from a family of priests who were devotees of Kehm God in Egypt’s Penopolis. It is said that the mummy belongs to the era which dates back to 322 to

30 BC. Earlier the team had come in 2011 and before that in 1999.

Notably, there are 6 mummies at various museums including Kolkata, Lucknow, Mumbai and Hyderabad in the country with Jaipur ’s Albert Hall being one of them. All 6 are undergoing the examination one by one.

The mummy is one of the main attractions at Albert Hall museum and is kept at basement in the museum.

The mummy is of a woman named Tutu who was from a family of priests, devotees of Kehm God in Egypt’s Penopolis. It is said that it belongs to the era dating back to 322 to 30 BC.
