The local police have taken a U-turn in the gang rape of the six-year-old student of Jalipa Kendriya Vidyalaya in Barmer. Despite registering an FIR against unknown accused, the police have termed the crime against the girl a concocted story.

According to the police, the time of the incident which the child is telling is not right and she did not even recognise the accused. Because of this, police officials are now claiming that the rape was not confirmed in the report of the medical board. The report said it was fungal infection.

However, the doctor of a private hospital, who informed the police about the girl’s rape, has expressed doubts on medical board’s report. Meanwhile, the alleged role of the police has sparked protests in the city.

The ABVP staged a protest by rally in Barmer this afternoon. In the evening, local schoolgirls and college students and their parents together with People of the Group gathered in the stadium and decided to protest against the incident.

The father of the victim said he is not going to sit quietly and added that he will raise the voice in Lok Sabha. At the same time, in an attempt to suppress the matter the school administration has banned the entry of the media persons on the school premises.

Manan Chaturvedi, chairman of the Rajasthan Child Rights Protection Commission, said that Barmer SP informed her that rape was not confirmed in the report of medical board  and it was a matter of fungal infection.

She believes that the child may have seen or heard such a matter, then she must have made this whole story in mind. When asked that if the medical report had not revealed the possibility of rape and the girl has made the story, then why did the police filed an FIR of the gang rape?

On this she said that “I do not know about filing such a report. If something has actually gone wrong with the child, then I will send my field team to meet the child and her family. If needed, the medical of the child  will be done again and I myself will go to Barmer.”
