The Reason: These tiny showers is expected to continue for the coming two to three days
Due to a fresh Western Disturbance over North Pakistan and its induced cyclonic circulation seen over West Rajasthan, during the last 24 hours, parts of Rajasthan observed rain and thundershower activities.
This rainy spell is expected to continue for the coming two to three days and due to clouding and continuous rains, maximums over most places will drop significantly.
As per local MeT office report, a thunderstorm with light rainfall occurred at isolated places in Jaisalmer where 8.2 mm of rainfall was recorded on Monday. Jaipur, Barmer and Jodhpur also observed traces. During the last 24 hours, minimum temperatures at all the places increased significantly and mercury in the night reached 4-6 degrees Celsius above the normal level.
The lowest minimum temperature of 7.4 degrees Celsius was recorded at Alwar followed by Udaipur 10.2, Churu 11, Kota 11.6, Bikaner 12.1 and Jaisalmer 13.7 degrees Celsius. The minimum temperature at other places was recorded well above 14 degrees Celsius.
As per weathermen at Skymet Weather, rain and thundershower activities are expected to increase both in terms of intensity and spread. Further, from January 22, light to moderate rains and thundershowers will occur over northwestern parts of the state.
Places such as Sri Ganganagar, Hanumangarh, Jhunjhunu, Sikar and Jaipur are likely to experience rain and thundershower activities. This rainy spell is expected to continue for the coming two to three days. January 24 onwards, as the weather systems will be moving eastwards, scattered rains would reduce.
Due to clouds and continuous rains, maximum temperatures over most places will drop significantly, which may even lead to cold day condition over few places. Meanwhile, minimum temperatures may follow a rising trend.
