Jaipur: Three-day expo concludes with lessons in smart & liveable cities

The expo was attended by town planning experts and smart city representatives from nearly 20 countries

The three-day Smart City Expo India concluded at Jaipur on Friday, leaving behind several suggestions to facilitate the development of smart cities in the state. The expo was attended by town planning experts and smart city representatives from nearly 20 countries, deliberations and discussions at the event presented for a plan of development for smart cities at India and abroad. 

“The suggestions received during discussions at the expo will be compiled in a report and those found viable will be adopted at the smart cities in Rajasthan,” said chief secretary of Rajasthan, DB Gupta while addressing the concluding session. 

The international expo hosted by Jaipur Development Authority in partnership with Fira Barcelona and Quantela and was attended by 2600 delegates and as many visitors. The organisers held the expo as successful towards promotion of liveable smart cities. 

“The expo proved to be an excellent networking platform for visitors and delegates. We need to develop compact spaces which will serve as a lighthouse for other cities,” stated Jaipur development commissioner,  Vaibhav Galriya. 
With over a 100 exhibitors and 69 startup participation, the expo not only showcased the available smart solutions, but it also presented proof of concept (POC) through a live demonstration of the exhibit products. 

“This is for the first time that Smart City Expo introduced the ‘POC’ and 31 successful POC were carried out during the event,” said Sridhar Gandhi, CEO Quantela.
