In the past one month, the Jaipur Rural police have suspended four officials from different police stations and now two cops from Jobner police station have been sent to the police lines. The Superintendent of Police -Jaipur Rural – received complaints about two men after which they were sent to lines while an investigation has been initiated against them. Interestingly, the SP has formulated a new way to counter the problems of corrupt activities even at the minutest level and takes action against officials once they are found guilty.

Highly placed sources in the department reveal that complaint was received that the two cops – identified as HC Kaluram and Sher Singh – were not taking proper action against sand mafia. “The complaint was received after which the duo was sent to lines while an investigation in the complaint has been initiated. The matter is being investigated by deputy SP level officer,” said Rameshwar Singh, SP – Jaipur Rural.

Interestingly, sources reveal that a new plan - to weed out corrupt practice by any cop – has been undertaken by the SP. “The SP takes routine feedback on the performance of police station staff from the station house officer. This is a routine work that had been going on for a long time. However, now in addition to this, the SP even at times gets feedback from Intelligence Bureau and various other sources. The SHOs have been given the ultimatum to weed out those who defer from police work and inform the SP after which an action is taken against the complaints,” an SHO from one of the police stations in Jaipur rural police district told DNA, requesting anonymity.

However, it is not just a complaint that would lead to severe action against a cop. “An investigation by a competent officer is conducted in such complaints and only after verifying the facts and checking the evidence, any action is taken,” the SHO said.
