It seems the BJP’s strategic victories towards ruling 21 out of 29 states are forcing Congress to emulate the saffron party. BJP had launched mega membership drive through ‘Missed Call’ and became the world’s largest political party. Now, Congress is also up on the membership drive through ‘Missed Call’ through ‘contact initiative’ programme called ‘Shakti’.

The brainchild of party president Rahul Gandhi, the project was officially launched by state party chief Sachin Pilot and AICC general secretary and Rajasthan incharge Avinash Pandey at the party headquarters on Thursday. Pilot has became first leader to enroll under the new project. The aim of this initiative is to create a solid party cadres ahead of general assembly election the party has launched Shakti . Any party member or leader or a person wishing to join party may send his voter Id to 7045003900 no to enroll under the program. A technical team sitting in New Delhi will verify the sender and later will add him into data base. Post verification the enrolled person can send his suggestion to the party which will be responded by the party leaders. Even, Gandhi can reply to the sender on finding suggestion well, claim the leaders.

“With this program, workers can outreach party leadership and tell what they think. We have to register one lakh members under the program in next week before March 16 when a plenary session under the chairmanship of party president Rahul Gandhi is scheduled. The BJP’s missed call programme was farce with false achievements. They have made panna pramukh, mandal in the organizations and used money and power. But, see what was the result? They lost the by election. Our Shakti program will work with proper authentication,” said Pilot on the occasion of launching the project.

Pandey who was present on this occasion added that Gandhi will launch the program all state units of the party during the plenary session on March 16. “Gandhi has conceptualized the program to have dialogue with the workers. Under a pilot project this program first time has been launched in Rajasthan. In future, the district units shall also launch the program.”

PILOT HITS OUT

Pilot took a jibe on PM Modi’s speech in Jhunjhunu. He said that the PM gave a lengthy speech but announced nothing for Rajasthan. “Today the PM visited Jhunjhunu. We are happy as he is our PM too. Though, he visits Rajasthan less and he should frequently come here. It will happen soon as BJP is continuously loosing election one after another. The PM during his speech announced nothing for Rajasthan, atleast he should give a special package to it.”
