Indian Army holds medical camp in remote Shahgarh

Indian Army’s Battle Axe Division under the aegis of Konark Corps reached out to the remote inaccessible village of Shahgarh and organised a medical camp for the locals and distributed computers, furniture, stationary and sports equipment to school children.

The major emphasis was given to improvement of education facilities and health care of the locals. The Battle Axe Division gifted benches and desks, computers, school bags, note books and stationary to Bachhiyan Chhor Higher Secondary School, Langtala Primary School and Ibrahim Khan ki Dhani Primary School.  The army also prepared two volleyball courts and provided sports equipment. 

A medical camp was organised in which polio vaccination, de-worming, vitamin A supplementation, immunisation against tetanus, HB estimation for all female patients and BP check for all patients above 30 years of age was done.

The medical camp also included dental care and services of gynaecologist and medical specialist. 

On the occasion, the weapon and military equipment display and stalls providing information about job opportunities in Armed Forces captured the attention of locals particularly youth. While addressing the people, Major General OP Gulia, General Officer Commanding Battle Axe Division appreciated the role of locals in helping the Army and assured them to give such assistance in future also. The function was attended by Brigadier Rajendra Kumar, Vipin Pathiri Dy Commandant, BSF.
