I am tired with Kabbadi of Cricket: Rajendra Singh Nandu

Cricketers at state are on stake as the office bearers at Rajasthan Cricket Association (RCA) entangle in political ‘Kabbadi’. That is what even the RCA secretary terms the situation as he expresses an intent to submit the issue before High Court at the next hearing on issues related to the association. 

“Even, I am tired of this ‘Kabbadi’ of cricket,” says RCA secretary Rajendra Singh Nandu, when asked upon collateral damage to cricket. RS Nandu is considered from the camp of former RCA president Lalit Modi and has been leading the faction against RCA president CP Joshi. Despite being outnumbered at the association’s executive committee, the RCA secretary has been able to draw support from many district associations and has announced parallel selection tournaments of the association.

“There is no relevance of the tournaments being held. Either the district cricket associations affiliated to the RCA decide on the issue or it will have to be decided upon by the court,” he says. The RCA executive, meanwhile, has announced of its selection list for the training camps for Under 19 categories. 

The list contains players from 24 districts of the state. Among these several are those from the district cricket associations that had not even participated in the category tournament. The camps are scheduled to commence from Monday at RCA grounds at Jaipur.

State cricket team for the age category will be selected from the participants of these camps.
