Heatwave conditions continue to grip parts of the state, with the capital Jaipur recording season’s highest day temperature, beyond 45 degrees Celsius, on Wednesday. 

Bundi remained the hottest place in the country for the second consecutive day where maximum temperature was recorded at 48 degrees Celsius. MeT department has issued a warning that heat wave conditions would continue at one or two places during next 24 hours. 

As per weathermen, these dry and hot weather conditions are expected to continue till May 28.

It was very hot on Wednesday for the people of Jaipur as the mercury started to rise since morning and was followed by a warmer night with a temperature of 29.6 degrees Celsius, which was 3 degrees above normal. In the morning itself, the mercury reached above 45 degrees mark, for the first time in this season. The maximum temperature in the city was recorded at 45.4 degrees Celsius, 4 degrees above normal level. 

In other parts of the state also, temperatures continued to soar above the 44-45 degree mark during last 24 hours and heatwave gripped parts of North and West Rajasthan.     

Vanasthali recorded the maximum temperature of 46.4 degrees Celsius, while Kota and Churu recorded maximum temperature above 45 degrees. 

FORECAST

The Western Disturbance lies over North Pakistan and adjoining Jammu and Kashmir. An induced cyclonic circulation is seen over Northwest Rajasthan. As per weatherman, there will be no relief on Thursday, parts of the state will observe maximum temperature between 44-48 degrees Celsius during next 24 hours. In fact, heat wave condition will also occur in one or two places of the state.
