After getting nod from state government, the Hoarding Committee has begun efforts to increase the Jaipur Municipal Corporation’s (JMC) revenue. The committee has instructed all the officials to prepare a list of all government land in the municipal area.

In the meeting of the committee held under the chairmanship of Deputy Mayor Manoj Bharadwaj, several decisions have been taken to increase the income of the municipal corporation. Bharadwaj directed the revenue officials and junior engineers of all eight zones to prepare a category-wise list of empty land, the strip of land and other government lands under the JMC jurisdiction. Apart from this the list of encroached government land is to be prepared separately. Municipal corporation will set up the land bank after collecting all the land records. Deputy Mayor also instructed to take action to remove encroachment from government land.

Bharadwaj, while reviewing the advertisement sites, instructed the officials to prepare a list of ad sites, moving advertisement vehicle and uni-pole sites. The Deputy Mayor directed all officers to present lists in the next meeting of the committee.

Significantly, the Jaipur Municipal Corporation has not been able to do the land auction in the last one year. The city corporation had set a target to collect revenue of Rs 100 crore from the land auction last year. But the JMC failed to generate income. In the current financial year, the municipal corporation has fixed the income target of Rs 100 crore from the land auction.
