Top leadership of BJP from the state and Centre on Saturday got together in Kishangarh to lay down groundwork for assembly elections in Rajasthan. The three and a half hours meeting was attended by all BJP MLAs, district presidents and members of state executive. They were given a roadmap on how to go about with public outreach till elections to ensure a win. Chief minister Vasundhara Raje said at the meeting that the next rally of PM Narendra Modi would be in Alwar.

The leaders present were national general secretary organisation Ram Lal, election in-charge Prakash Javdekar, national general secretary P Murlidhar Rao, national general secretary V Satish, state in-charge Avinash Rai Khanna, general secretary organisation Chandrashekhar and state president Madan Lal Saini. Raje too joined the meeting mid-way. Addressing the meeting, Raje thanked the MLAs and cadre for the successful rally in Ajmer.

“Now rallies will not be at this scale. They will be at district headquarters and the next rally of the PM will be in Alwar,” Raje told the gathering. In a major shift, the party has decided that district presidents would get tickets if their names came forth in the survey. This was confirmed by Raje while speaking to media after the meeting.

Further MLAs were clearly told to work for the party and ensure a win in their areas. “We were told that the aim is to win and the best candidate will get a ticket. We were also told that those seeking tickets should not be considered rivals,” said an MLA to DNA.
