Apalled at the condition of water reservoirs of Jodhpur city, Caron did not seek anybody’s help and started cleaning them alone.

They say that a journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. Caron, a heritage lover fron Ireland, is doing the same in Jodhpur.
Apalled at the condition of water reservoirs of Jodhpur city, Caron did not seek anybody’s help and started cleaning them alone.
According to 70-year-old Caron, he has completed cleaning of six reservoirs in the city so far and the 7th Tapi Bawri’s cleaning is continuing. So far, he has thrown more than 20 tonne debris from this bawri.
Caron told DNA that he is a lover of heritage and has been cleaning these mythological heritage for the last four years. Karan Singh Jassol, the operator of the Meherngarh Museum Trust, with the help of Gaj Singh, has played an important role in making this campaign his mission.
An artist and environment science teacher in Ireland, Caron cleaned 7 reservoirs, which include Ram Bawari, Kriya Zalra, Govinda Bawari Chandpol Bawri Mahamandir Bawari and Gulab Sagar.
During the cleaning work of 400 years old and two 200 feet deep Tapi Bawri, the local resident Akash Joshi came forward to help Caron. He said the that the bawari’s cleaning was done 40 years ago in 1985 by the residents of the area. In which he cleaned six caves which were infested with bats. It was a surprise to him and he also became part of this campaign of Caron and he was supporting him in every work .
Caron said that whenever he seeds objects of heritage in neglect he can’t stop himself from cleaning and presvering them.
According to Caron, he is getting support by the higher officials, but despite the orders he has not been given mechanical equipment due to which the work is going slow.
