The Regional Transport Office  office is taking 15-20 days to issue the Registration Certificates (RC’s) of new vehicles causing troubles to the vehicle owners. Sources inform that there is a backlog of pending RC’s in the Regional Transport Office  since Diwali festival.

One of the vehicle owners in Mansarovar area informed that they had bought a car before Diwali but are yet to get RC for that vehicle.

The result is that a large number of vehicles are roaming in the city without having RC. While the department claims that this is happening because of a large number of vehicles coming every day for getting registrations, sources inform that the server of the department is slow and many times faces troubles. Officials claimed that the capacity of the company issuing the RC’s is limited to 1500 cards per day.

However, the number of vehicles which come for registration certificates are more than this and this leading to delays in issuing of RC’s.

One of the sources revealed that during the Diwali festival days itself, more than 14000 vehicles were bought in the city.

This took a long time for the Regional Transport Office   to issue RC’s for them, however, it also leads to the backlog of the vehicles bought after Diwali. Now again the year end is coming, as such the transport officials are expecting that more vehicles will be bought than the usual time because of the discounts which the companies give on year-end. However, sources say that the server connectivity is also one of the reasons for the delay of the RC issuance.

Till a few days back, the RC’s were being issued within 7-10 days .however the number of days has now increased in last few days.
