The recent visit of RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat had more to do other than just nation building. It culminated with ‘rapport building’ with chief minister Vasundhara Raje. It is rumoured that Raje doesn’t gel well with RSS. Last time when Bhagwat visited Jaipur in September 2017, the air was rife that he (Bhagwat) was avoiding Raje. But this time he spent quality time with Raje puttng rest to all the speculations.

His visit also hinted RSS’ trust in Raje while sending a message that the right wing organisation will back the chief minister in elections, scheduled next year.

“This was first time that RSS had held Swar Govind Samaroh at such a large scale. This was aimed at not only galvanise the existing cadre but also expand its base which could volunteer its contribution to BJP in the next elections,” said a Swayamsevak.

The recently found camaraderie between Raje and Bhagwat is seen as an offshoot of  government’s order that has directed state colleges to take students on an educational tour of the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS)-backed Gaurav Pratap Kendra in Udaipur. The Kendra is very close to Bhagwat’s heart as not only the foundation stone was laid by him in 2008 but also the inauguration was done by him in 2016. Prime Minister Narendra Modi also visited this Kendra on his visit to Udaipur in August this year, making it even  more important.  The Rs 100 crore Kendra was  conceived by RSS to develop a sense of patriotism, bravery, culture, values, duty as well as increase knowledge about tourism and history.

Tagged as a living pilgrimage of history, education and ritual, the main attraction of the centre is a 57-foot metal statue of Maharana Pratap in a sitting posture besides a Bharat Mata mandir, Bharat Darshan Gaurav Dirgha and four art galleries with over 300 paintings.

“The government’s order to organise trips for college students will help in popularising the ideology and concept of RSS. It will also help the Hindu outfit to ‘catch them young’ to infuse ‘raw power’ in the organisation,” said a political observer
