It is for the first time in his 4 visits to Rajasthan that PM Modi was so vociferous about Vasundhara Raje’s governance
Unlike his last four visits to Rajasthan this year, PM Narendra Modi’s visit this time was markedly different. In his nearly half-and-hour long address, Modi applauded Vasundhara Raje as many as six times and even went on to call her a ‘popular CM’ who put the state on the path of development with her vigor and tenacity.
As Modi reached the stage, he immediately struck a conversation with Raje and post her speech, the PM’s address largely focused on praising her for the schemes and plans which brought significant changes in Rajasthan in her four-and-half year tenure.
He specifically mentioned about Mukhyamantri Jal Swavlamban Scheme and Barmer Refinery Project to highlight how Rajasthan is evolving under her rule.
“CM Raje is leader of masses and the huge crowd present here is a prove of this. In last four years, Rajasthan has moved ahead on the path of development with double the speed and Centre and the state government are working in cohesion,” said Modi during his address.
His remark on exemplary development in the state and reference of Centre working in close association with the state was a comment made in an attempt to put to rest the allegations made by the Opposition Congress over differences between Centre and the state government.
Modi went on to say that Raje is the leader who has managed well the state that was lying doldrums under Congress’ rule. “You should remember what was the situation in Rajasthan four years back and how Raje brought the turnaround,” said Modi.
The PM in his speech also heaped praise on Raje government’s schemes like Mukhyamantri Rajshri Yojana, Palanhar and Teerth Yojna, about which the beneficiaries spoke quite highly in a audio-visual presentation. He congratulated Raje for the schemes. She was also praised by Modi for implementing schemes related to farmers’ welfare and specifically mentioned Jal Swavlamban Scheme which he called a game changer in water conversation.
“She did a splendid job by introducing Jal Swavlamban Scheme that helped preserve water in 12,000 villages. The schemes related to farmers are being implemented with full capacity by Raje,” added Modi.
