The dead body of a 4-year-old girl was found in Amber area of the city on Tuesday morning creating panic in the area. The police were informed and a team from local police station rushed to the spot followed by senior officials.
The girl was found devoid of clothes and it was suspected that she was first raped and then murdered, however, a post mortem report will reveal if the child was actually raped or not. Meanwhile, the police had initiated an investigation into the matter while sending the dead body to the mortuary.
Late in the afternoon, few villagers from the area were walking in the jungles near Chainpura village when they came across the body of the child. “Shocked over their finding, the men immediately alerted the Amber police. A police team was immediately dispatched to the spot while senior officials were also informed who also rushed to the spot,” officials said.
The police team immediately set about in its bid to establish the girl’s identity. “The child was identified as the daughter of a laborer working at a brick kiln in Chainpura village area of Amber. Their family lives in a makeshift home at the kiln itself. The family was contacted who identified the child. Notably, the girl’s mother and father are separated for the past several years and the child used to live with her father,” officials said.
Meanwhile, the dog squad and Forensic Science Lab team were also called at the spot to pick evidence. “The FSL team and Dog squad picked pieces of evidence from the spot and the body was kept at the mortuary. A medical board will be formed which will conduct a post mortem. The report will reveal if the child was raped or not. Although we suspect that she was murdered after raping, the investigation will be conducted based on what the report says.
Meanwhile, we are investigating the matter for murder,” officials said, adding further, “It appears that someone close to the family could be behind the murder.”
