Nagaur police conducted an arrest after receiving a tip-off regarding a narcotics smuggler in Ladnun area of the district late on Monday night. The police recovered nearly one kilogram of heroin and over 100 grams cocaine - the joint value of which in the international market is around two crore rupees. The police have arrested a man who has even spent time behind bars in Punjab jail.

The police arrested one Bhanwarlal Sharma from Shimla village under Ladnun police station area. “Information was received in this regard through sources. Late in the night, the police team raided the spot where Bhanwarlal was at and conducted a search of the premises. During the search, the heroin and cocaine was recovered,” said Dr Deepak Yadav, ASP Didwana. Of the total narcotics recovered, 104 grams cocaine and 935 grams heroine - of which 170 grams is white heroine and 765 is brown heroin - has been recovered.

Interestingly, the arrested man has been behind bars as well. “Bhanwarlal was arrested by Punjab police and spent three and a half years behind bars. At that time, three and a half kilo opium was recovered from him. He was working as a nodal agent wherein he would bring the supply of narcotics from Madhya Pradesh while after selling locally he would forward the same to Punjab,” Yadav said, adding further, “It has also come to light that he was in possession of the confiscated cocaine for a very long time. He could not sell it as according to him, there are no takers for cocaine. He has also confessed that he would mix various other substances in heroine thus adulterating it so he can earn more by selling little. The man is being interrogated.”
