Betting continues to plague the Indian Premier League (IPL) with Hyderabad being the latest city to make news because of it.

Police on Wednesday  busted four rackets allegedly involved in betting on IPL cricket matches and arrested 21 people from different parts of the city.

Cops conducted raids under different police station limits of the Hyderabad Police Commissionerate and the Rachakonda Police Comissionerate and nabbed bookies, organisers and punters, stated a release.

Police seized cash worth Rs 13.44 lakh, laptops, mobile phones and other electronic gadgets that were allegedly used in betting, it said.

Over the years, an increase in the number of cases involving betting and match/spot fixing have played a big role in taking away the credibility of the the cash-rich tournament.
