Young couple commits suicide in Punjab

A young married couple in their mid twenties today committed suicide by jumping into river Sutlej here near.
    
The couple accompanied by a daughter and son had came here for boating, police said adding that both husband wife and their two-year-old son had drowned and three and half year old daughter was saved by the rescue team. According to Didar Singh, contractor at Boat Club, the couple came for boating at around 11.30 a.m.
   
All family members were given life jackets before boarding the boat. They went deep into the river. The contractor noticed that couple is missing from the boat. Didar Singh informed the police. The divers tried to trace the dead bodies but till late in the evening no dead body could be recovered.
   
Police had registered a case and further investigation is on, said Manbir Singh SHO Rupnagar.
