Weather hits 3 flights in Ahmedabad

Ahmedabad: Three city-bound flights were delayed after a Kingfisher Airlines ATR-72 aircraft skidded off the runway in Mumbai on Tuesday due to poor visibility and bad weather.

Two Mumbai-Ahmedabad flights and one flight from Ahmedabad to Mumbai were delayed due to the incident.The flights were delayed by more than two and a half hours.

Jayant Patel who had come to the city's Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International airport to see off his family said he came to know about the delay only after reaching the airport.
He said it was difficult waiting at the airport as it does not have enough facilities.

"There is no rest room or good restaurant where one can eat or get refreshed," said Patel.

"I landed in the city by an Indian Airlines flight which was more than 40 minutes late. Apart from it, I had to wait for a long time at the Mumbai airport as well," said Bhavin Gadani, a Surendranagar-based businessman.
