Mandi and Sundernagar in Himachal Pradesh also experienced the hottest day of the season as mercury crossed the 40 degree mark against yesterday's 38.9 degrees.
Una in the Shivalik foothills sizzled at 44 degree Celsius while Shimla had its hottest day of the season with mercury soaring to 30.2 degrees as temperatures rose sharply across Himachal Pradesh today.
Mandi and Sundernagar also experienced the hottest day of the season as mercury crossed the 40 degree mark against yesterday's 38.9 degrees. Bhuntar, Dharamsala and Nahan also recorded a high of 36.5 degrees while the maximum temperature at Kalpa in teh tribal district of Kinnaur rose to 24 degrees.
The minimum night temperatures also rose significantly with Nahan recording a low of 27.1 degrees, followed by Palampur and Dharamsala (20 degrees), Shimla 18.7 degree, Mandi and sundernagar ( 18.2 degree) and Una (18 degrees).
Local Met office said the weather would remain dry during the next 48 hours with mercury showing marginal increase.
