Two more held for Jam Palace theft

Police have recovered all the stolen articles.

The Jamnagar police arrested two absconders in connection with the theft in the Jam Bungalow Palace of Jamnagar from Kalol in Mahesana district. The police recovered many stolen items from them.

Deputy Inspector General of Police, Rajkot Range, Manoj Shashidharan told DNA that the three people were arrested from Kalol and the so rest of the articles so far not recovered by the police from the people earlier arrested have been recovered from them.

Shashidharan told DNA that the police made several teams, which were camped at different locations in the state. "The team camped at Kalol, got the information that three accused may pass through Kalol and they have nabbed them from there," he said. 

"The remaining articles stolen from the palace have been recovered from them and now there are no articles to recover from them," he said. The police have so far recovered the articles of worth Rs2 crores from the accused arrested.

A major theft occurred in the Jam Bungalow Palace of Jamnagar by a group of miscreants before a month. Many articles including the precious paintings as well as antiques were stolen from that palace, however all these articles were later on recovered by the police.
