Two unidentified militants have been killed in an encounter with police commandos at Kamoching area in Manipur, official sources said today.
When Imphal East police commandos were patrolling Kamoching area, some militants fired at the police personnel.
The commandos retaliated and in the ensuing exchange of firing, two militants were killed on the spot.
Arms and ammunition were recovered from the spot, the sources said.
The bodies have been sent to the Regional Institute of Medical Science and hospital for post-mortem.
Fourteen persons have been killed in insurgency related incidents in Manipur this year.
