Two detained for alleged gangrape

Two men were detained by the police after a complaint that they gang-raped a girl and tried to record it on video in Jayadev area here, the police said today.
 
The girl, a diploma student in garment engineering at an institute in Dhenkanal, accused the two, Swasti Sandeep and Sanjay Sahasia, of taking her from a shopping mall to a women's hostel run by them in Jayadev area and raping her there last night, the sources said.

They had also tried to video record the act, the sources said.
 
The girl, who apparently knew Swasti Sandeep earlier, was here to spend a few days with her parents here, the sources said.

A case has registered and the men, who had been detained, and the girl had been sent for medical examination, the sources said.
