According to information, Vikram Gautam, 40, a resident of Rohini Nagar, Indore had gone to Saputara along with two of his friends Bhagwan Das and Navin. Police officials say that Vikram was drunk and misbehaved with them which forced them to take the extreme step."Vikram misbehaved with our officials, which forced them to resort to beating. An inquiry into the case has been ordered. Action will be taken against anyone found guilty," said Gautam Parmar, DSP of Dangs.

In another incident, a civilian was heavily thrashed by an RPF official. Pitambar Raut, 39, a resident of Ashok Nagar, Ashwinikumar Road was arrested by an RPF constable for allegedly smoking Ganjha. Raut was operated upon on Monday, but his condition is still said to be critical. The incident has shook top RPF officials in Surat.
