To act in two-member play called ‘When God said Cheers’.
Well-known silver screen artiste Tom Alter, Grammy award winner Pandit Viswamohan Bhatt and popular Sufi singer Kavita Seth will enchant Amdavad audiences with their performances at the IIM-A's annual cultural fest 'Chaos', to be held from January 28 to 31.
When Alter and Cyrus Dastur act in the the two-member play called 'When God said cheers,' written by Anurag Kashyap, it will be for the first time at 'Chaos' that professionals will be performing a play on the stage. Coordinator of 'Chaos' at IIMA Chitranshu Mathur said, "We are very happy to have these professionals performing for Chaos for the first time. While we have held students' plays earlier, we thought to rope in these professionals to give a chance to the young talent in the city to watch the expert performances."
Mathur said, "While the three artists have confirmed their appearance in the festival, we are also trying to rope in other eminent artists as well."
Keeping the theme of the upcoming event as 'movie', the 'Chaos-2010' is called '70mm'. While the event will continues with its usual rock competitions and other events, the fest will also include lots of talent hunts. Talking about the theme of the fest and the talent search, Mathur said, "We all have grown with movies as a part of our lives and every artist intends to take their talents to the level of films. So, most of the events are also focused towards this idea. Students will get a platform to prove their talent, while the rest of the people in the city will get an opportunity to see the talents of the students and enjoy the performances of the professionals as well."
Chaos was started in 1996 and since than had gained a lot of popularity in the state. Its music competitions and events are also very popular particularly among teenagers.
The fest will also see new events like street dance competition, dance drama and Indian music band competitions this time.
