Three arrested on J&K highway with 42 kgs of poppy

A truck was intercepted by the police last night on the highway at Patnitop, 108 kms from here, and 40 kg of poppy contained in seven bags was seized from it, police said.

Three persons were arrested and 42 kg of poppy was recovered from their possession in two separate incidents at Jammu-Srinagar national highway, police said.
   
A truck was intercepted by the police last night on the highway at Patnitop, 108 kms from here, and 40 kg of poppy contained in seven bags was seized from it, they said.
   
Bashir Ahmed Boked of Vailoo village in Anantnag district was arrested and a case has been registered against him, they said.

Ahmed was transporting the drug from Anantnag district in south Kashmir to Delhi.
   
In a separate incident, two persons - truck driver Kuldeep Kumar and conductor Ajeet Kumar were arrested when two and a half kg of poppy was recovered from their vehicle at Nagrota area last night, they said, adding that a case has been registered.
