Team Anna on Thursday opened another warfront with Congress taking up the issue of corruption in defence deals and sought to link a businessman accused in the Navy War Room leak case with the party.

Relying on documents provided to them by an associate of the accused, the activists alleged that several agents like him are the declared faces of the government to collect commission on behalf of and for those who are in the government.

However, they said they cannot vouch for the authenticity of the documents.

Addressing a press conference, Team Anna members Arvind Kejriwal and Prashant Bhushan alleged that several international firms had approached the businessman to get contracts and other things done in India.

They also alleged that the businessman had knowledge of what is happening in the government and even can tell clients what senior ministers will tell their counterparts in the other countries.

Citing an email sent by the businessman, they alleged that he had knowledge about the commitment to be given to Israel on withdrawing the anti-dumping duty imposed on a company in that country.

They also alleged that the businessman had flaunted his Congress connections with his clients when they expressed problems.
